Relaxation

Aberdeenshire has stunning scenery with it’s spectacular coastline, cliffs and beaches to rolling hills heading westward to dramatic mountains and Munros. There are some fabulous drives to be taken with many viewpoints marked for photographic opportunities, often marked as a ‘Queen’s View’ with historical links to Queen Victoria.

Highland Safaris off the beaten track, up landrover tracks into uncharted territory with a guided ranger are on offer at Balmoral and Braemar with previous guests praising both highly.

Royal Deeside also has wonderful little towns and villages which are well worth exploring. Aboyne, Banchory, Ballater and Braemar all have little coffee shops with delicious cakes, art galleries, antiques and shops with lots to offer.

The Hilton Craigendarroch also has a health spa offering a swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. For the more adventurous bathers, Stonehaven boasts the most northerly heated outdoor sea water swimming pool in the UK.

For those home birds that would rather simply read a book, guests can relax in the lounge, conservatory or even on the terrace, perhaps with a dram, watching the sunset.
